Thaal and Zai

Practice and read the following sentences out loud.

ذَاقَ الْعَـذَابَ لِيَوْمٍ فَـذَابَ.

He tasted punishment for a day and then melted away

ذَ - ذَاقَ

لَا تَعْتَـذِرْ عَنْ كُلِّ ذِيْ كَـذِبٍ.

Don’t make excuses for everyone who lies.

ذِ - تَعْتَـذِر

لِلْكَـذُوبِ ذُنُوبٌ لَا تَـذُوبُ إِلّا بِالتَّوْبَةِ

Liars have sins that wont melt away except with repentance.

ذُ - ذُنُوب

اِذْهَبْ وَخُـذْ إِذْنَ أَبِيْكَ.

Go and get your father’s permission.

ذْ - اِذْهَبْ

زَارَنِيْ زَيْدٌ فَـزَادَنِيْ سُرُوْراً.

Zaid visited me and increased me in happiness.

زَ - زَارَ

اَلصِّدْقُ زِيْنَةٌ وَعَـزِيْمَةٌ ، وَالكَذِبُ قُبْحٌ وَهَـزِيْمَةٌ.

Truthfulness is a beautification and determination and deceit is ugly and defeat.

زِ - زِينَةٌ

زُكَامٌ أَصَابَ زُهَيْراً، فَجِئْتُ أَزُوْرُ بِأَبْهَىْ زُهُوْرٍ.

Zuhair came down with a cold, so I visited him with the most beautiful flowers.

زُ - زُكَامٌ

نَـزْرَعُ الأزْهارَ فِيْ أَرْضِنَا، وَالْعَـزْمَ في أَبْنَائِنَا.

We plant flowers in our lands and determination in our children.

زْ - نَـزْرَعُ
