This curriculum was developed primarily to deliver Islamic content to our children who attend our Keen On Deen Madrasah. Before we began to author this book, we thought about what we wanted to deliver and how we wanted to deliver it, and we decided to focus on two key skills.
1) Memorisation
2) Understanding

We will summarise our goals in this single task

“If a parent asked a child what they learnt today, they must be able to recite something memorised and be able to explain it”
So upon that foundation each lesson focuses on explaining a single verse of the Qur’aan, Hadeeth, sentence, phrase or line of poetry. Once memorised, they must be able to explain it by understanding the Arabic words and its intended meaning. Finally, our aim was to use “Short phrases with great meaning”. By doing so we hope to teach your child rules, principles and ideas that will shape their lives and build their Islamic character.

We developed a system that grounds the students in simple short pieces of information to be memorised and learnt. Our goal for each chapter was for the whole lesson to revolve around one simple Aayah of the Qur’aan, Hadeeth of the Prophet Muhammad or poem authored by Shaykh Abdur-Rahmaan Sa’de, making it easy for the student to memorise and then learn. These two processes are key for the learning and retention of the lesson.

On top of this we have included Interesting and appealing images so that the participating children can feel excited about what they learn and re-enforce that with plenty of exhilarating exercises.
