Each participant will have the opportunity to get to know those involved, introduce new participants, new staff, do fun things together, view the plan for the term and learn about the ‘Keeners Kode’ which is a set of rules wereby each keener will attempt to live by

Audio Mash Up
Audio Mash Up is an activity that will give each person the opportunity to be creative with sound. They will have to plan out an audio message, advert or recording using various sounds, tools and voices.

Molecular Gastronomy
Molecular Gastronomy is the use of modern scientific methods and materials to produce new types of foods. This could be the use of liquid nitrogen for instant freezing, or Nitros Oxide for instant foaming, or various other ingredients to make something spectacular.

Lives of the Companions
Lives of the companions is a unique look at the lives of the companions. This will give each student the opportunity to learn about the men around the Prophet Muhammad, their importance and their efforts to convey the message to mankind.

Career Searching
Each child wants to have the best career and the most promising future, but how to get there may not be so clear. Each participant will focus on their skills, interests and character and we will help them get ideas about the future.

Our Message To The World
Keeners have a message to deliver to the world. Whether it be to stay away from drugs, be good to ones parents or avoid shirk, they have a message, so come and listen to it.

T-Shirt Re-design
Old T-Shirts and clothing often get thrown in the bin or dumped in the recyeled box, but today we will breath new life into them, add character and finesse to them and learn new ways to change and improve old clothes. This will involved various skills, such as stitch work, dying, cutting and much more.

Photo Finish
Photo Finish is an activity were we learn about making a photo album. Each group will choose a theme and plan what types of imagery they want to convey in their booklet, using the correct composition, stretching their creativity.

Visiting The Sick
Visiting the sick is a very important part of Islam and part of our social fabric. Our keeners will produce one gift, or item to give to the sick at a hospital to get better. This will give them the chance to experience empathy in a deep and personal way, as they prepare a gift for a stranger for the sake of Allaah.

Being Clean
Performing the Wudhu, Ghusl and general hygine is an important part of the religion. Islam teaches every muslim how to be clean, but we often overlook its importance and significance in our lives. During this even, we will focus on the importance, ettiquets of cleanliness and how to do so according to the sunnah.

Sewing
Sewing is an important skill. The Messenger of Allaah himself used to mend his own clothes when torn. This session will focus on cloth repair and how we dont need to throw away good clothes just because a stitch has come loose or a pocket has been torn.

Calligraphy
Calligraphy is the art of the Muslim Ummah. This skill has decorated our Masaajid, our homes and our architecture for centuries. This art is quickly being forgotten and this class attempts at reviving this skill and knowledge.

Directors Cut
Directors cut is a two week activity where our keeners will have the opportunity to plan, cast, and shoot their very own ‘short film’. This will be an independent activity for each group and the keeners will learn the basics of developing a video for da’wah.

Candle Making
Making candles is an age old skill that illuminated the ages before light bulbs and electricity. This two week activity our keeners will learn how to make candles and how to make moulds from various shapes and figures and how to add their own scent to their candles so as to illuminate their homes with a beautiful smell as well as with light.

The Best Of Mankind – Prophets
The religion of truth from Allah was delivered by the best of mankind. Each group will choose, either by choice or by random selection, a prophet to research and prepare a presentation about them, their lives and their mission.

History Of The Qur’aan
The Qur’aan has been revealed, transmitted, explained and convayed to the rest of mankind throughout the ages. Lets learn some more about it after the completion of the month of the Qur’aan.

Real Talk – Protecting The Eyes
Real Talk is an opportunity for each child to learn about some of the things that exists in our society that they need to be aware of and avoid. This lesson will cover the topic of the eyes, and what it sees. We will explain the affects of looking at things one should not see, how Islam came to protect the eyes and what happens to the one who does not protect his or her eyes.

End Of Year Party
Its Party Time!!! This will be an opportunity to reflect at the year that has passed, what has been achieved and what is left to do. During this final day, we will give awards to participants for their achievements. Throughout the year we will be keeping log of peoples achievements and they will receive awards, metals, and badges for what they’ve achieved.
