الغُنَّة   The Rule of Ghunnah 

The letter ن and م are known as ‘ghunnah’ letters, nasal sounds. Ghunnah is defined as a nasal sound that comes from the nose.

Whenever the letter noon and meem have shaddah  on them, they are held for a period of 2 counts with ghunnah.

  أَنَّ  


If you hold your nose closed you will not be able to produce the ghunnah sound
